APPY is located on theRoute des Corniches, at the foot of the St. Barthelemy Massif. At 1000 meters altitude, is the highest village of the road. Despite the presence of about thirty houses, the village is inhabited by only 23 inhabitants in winter. But the population decline seems now stopped: in 2000 there were only 8 people! Many activities are available in Appy or in the valley there is something for everyone!
HIKE :
Around the gite, there is a great choice of walks and hikes offered to you, easy family walk from one village to another or hike in the mountains towards Appy Pond or St. Barthelemy Peak.
A wide range of itineraries provides tours of all levels and most of the year. If necessary, we will lend you the guidebooks. For some of these hikes, you can also take your bike, or consider a walk with a ass for one day.

Open your eyes and ears : enjoy your outings to observe the fauna and flora! According to the seasons and areas, you can easily see wildlife mountain (bighorn sheep, marmots, isards, etc..) And discover the vegetation wealth . Tell us about your discoveries, we can surely give you some information!
SNOW, snowshoeing and skiing:You can enjoy snowshoeing, snowmen and sledging fun at Appy, but you can also go in less than 45 min. in ski resorts:
- Ax - 3 Domaines, Ascou - Pailhères for downhill skiing,
- Beille and Le Chioula for nordic skiing (and dog sled at Beille)
CLIMBING

There is a rock for climbing at Appy and other sites are close to 20 minutes: Sinsat, Orlu, Vicdessos ...
